Darla Buckels
Family Ministries Director
Darla has a desire to introduce children to Jesus by planting seeds into their young lives and helping them grow in the word of God.
Darla has a background in Early Childhood Education and has taught in Christian Preschools for over 20 years. She is married to Brian, who is currently serving on the Praise Team, and they have three grown children. They have been attending CMV since 2015.
When Darla is not working, she enjoys baking, cooking, and reading cookbooks. She loves decorating for the Holidays! Fall and Christmas are her favorites! She loves quiet mornings with a big cup of coffee, the smell and sounds of rain, and spending time with her family and best friends.
Sundays
Nursery through 6th Grades
Your children’s safety is one of our top priorities. Please make sure you check in your child at the check-in station in the lobby.
When you arrive at Calvary, please head inside to the lobby where you will find the Children’s Ministry Table: The Orchard.
A friendly volunteer will help you check-In your child, receive a name badge and a pick-up tag, and direct you to the classrooms. Sunday School is provided for nursery through the 6th grade at 10 am. Weekly Bible Lessons with take-home pages are provided for each child.
Nursing Moms
We have a beautiful nursing mom’s room across the hall from the Nursery, specially designed for mothers and their infants.
This quiet room will allow you to nurse, feed, and comfort your baby as well as hear and view the service in a comfortable environment. A changing table and sink are located in the back of the room.
Sunday School Classes
The nursery is a vital ministry of our church that is committed to providing high-quality care for each child in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for infants through 24 months.
Our nursery has a paging system and a secure check-in procedure to ensure the safety of your child. Parents have the opportunity to worship and hear God’s Word, confident that their young children are in a safe and loving place.
After check-in, please take your child to room 102 where you can meet your child’s caregiver, explain any special instructions, and receive a pager.
We have a class for those ages 2 1/2 years old through 4 years old. We focus on Worship, Bible Story Teachings, Arts & Crafts, Snack Time, and Free Play.
After check-in, please take your child to room 103 where you can meet your child’s teachers, explain any special instructions, and receive a pager.
We have classes for those in Kindergarten and 1st grade. We focus on Worship, Teaching Time, Arts & Crafts, Snack Time, and Free Play.
After check-in, please take your child to room 104 where you can meet your child’s teachers, and explain any special instructions.
After check-in, students in 2nd – 6th-grade meet in Room 206 for Worship. After Worship, they go back to classroom 204 for their lesson, crafts, and games.
Pick-up is in Room 204
Kids in 6th grade and younger meet in room 106 after check and remain there throughout the entire service.
Special needs kids in 7th grade through adult, meet in room 107
